This Tandoori Chicken Recipe is Popular Throughout the World

Tandoori chicken is a chicken dish mostly popular in Southern Asia like Pakistan,India, Indonesia , Singapore, Malaysia, and the Western world. It comprises of roasted chicken made with mixed spices and yogurt. Kashmiri and red chili powder are applied to give it a burning red color. The name of the tandoori chicken recipe comes from the kind of a tandoor or clay oven in which the dish is cooked traditionally, however, it can also be cooked on a conventional barbecue grill.

Tandoori chicken recipe is heated by wood or charcoal which also attach to the smoky flavor. Preparation and Cooking Method for Tandoori Chicken Recipe-


Step 1

Make incisions lightly using a sharp knife on the chicken legs, breast, legs, and thighs.

Step 2

Mix the chicken pieces with 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder, 1½ tbsp lemon juice, and salt and keep aside for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Tie up yogurt using a piece of thin clothes and hang over a bowl for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4

Keep the thick yogurt into a stainless still, bowl. Mix the leftover garlic and ginger paste, Kashmiri red chili powder, salt, lemon juice, hot spices powder and 3 tbsp olive oil.

Step 5

Put this mixture over the chicken and marinate for 3 to 4 hrs in room temperature or in a refrigerator.

Step 6

Set the chicken onto a skewer carefully and place them in a moderately hot tandoor (clay oven) for cooking or in a pre-heated oven at 400°F/200°C Mark  for 10 to 12 minutes, or till almost done.

Step 7

Baste chicken using some oil and cook for more 4 minutes. Remove the cooked chicken and keep aside.

Step 8

Serve it hot with accompaniment (paratha, chapatti or naan, and don’t forget to serve with lemon wedges or onion rings.
